circa 1913, 28in. nitro reproved barrels with file-cut matt rib gold-inlaid '2' at the breech end, tubes engraved 'WILLIAM POWELL & SON. CARR'S LANE. BIRMINGHAM. SIR JOSEPH WHITWORTH'S FLUID PRESSED STEEL.', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke, treble-trip action with carved stylised fleur de lys fences, toplever gold-inlaid '2', automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, border and acanthus scroll engraving, retaining traces of renewed colour-hardening and finish, 13 3/4in. figured stock including 3/8in. extension, weight 6lb.
